Burgundy based ceramists Nathalie and Christophe Hurtault reinterpret
classical stoneware pottery.
Having inherited the family workshop, they passionately gave shape to the clay. Their designs, the natural materials they use and centuries of tradition are combined to create modern, yet timeless products.
The ceramics workshop was set up in 1976 by their parents, Nicole and Claude in the lovely hamlet called Les Guimards, minutes away from the village of Saint Amand en Puisaye, where a tradition of stoneware pottery has perpetuated since the middle ages.
Thanks to the local St Amand sandstone - which they extract and prepare themselves, and the exclusive glazes they create - Les Guimards are environmentally friendly and suited to everyday life.
