A Foodie Father’s Day

Posted Jun 17, 2016
Is your dad a serious home cook? Did you learn your impressive baking skills from your dad? Then make this Father’s Day all about what he really loves and wants, and that’s food!

We did a bit of research and we think we have found some fab ideas that will appease any dad who loves food and cooking. So, forget about getting your dad a boring pair of socks and a predictable box of chocolates and read on for our Foodie Father’s Days ideas…

Chef Toys Your Dad will Love

When you ask a professional chef ‘what’s the one piece of kit you cannot cook without?' Most, if not all, will answer: their chef knife. Because they use it every day, quality and style is of the uppermost importance. One of the most popular brands is Masamoto – a real Japanese gem. Their blades are made of the highest quality steel, so they are guaranteed to last a long time.

For Father’s Day, treat your dad to his very own chef knife. If he’s a keen home cook, we are sure it will make his day! Head over to our Chef Knife shop and browse our options. If your dad is new to cooking, then we suggest a Starter Kit or the 24cm VT Series Chef Knife.

Does your dad aspire to be like the pro chefs? Then he will love our Chefonomy shop. This is packed full of all the chef toys and gadgets, from confit kits to chocolate spray guns, there’s lots of fun things to choose from! We guaranteed your dad will have lots of fun mastering new Chefonomy skills!

And of course, if your dad is going to be spending more time in the kitchen, then make sure he looks the part. We also offer chefs clothing, from aprons to professional chef jackets. We also offer an embroidery service, so you can personalise the jacket with your dads name or even a special message!

A Hearty Hot Pot...the Way to Dads Heart!

A Way to Your Dads Heart…A Homemade Meal
What dad doesn’t love a proper good homemade meal? Even better when he gets to relax and you do all the cooking! Get him to put his feet up with a beer in hand, while you take over in the kitchen. Go all out and prepare a special Father’s Day menu. We’ve suggested a few recipes below, but you can find more here.

Why not start with a nice fresh salad, we love Roy Brett’s Char Grilled Squid Feta salad. For the main, you can’t go wrong with a hearty hot pot! Try Nigel Haworth’s special Lancashire version – its comfort food at its best!
Finish with something light and fluffy! Michael Vanheste Apple Crumble Soufflé is a perfect option. You can really show off your baking skills with a soufflé – it will impress even the most serious of daddy home cooks!
