Mother’ Day at Galvin’s
The renowned Galvin restaurants always make the most of special occasions and Mother’s Day is no exception.

You can enjoy a seasonally inspired three course lunch in the intimate Bistrot de Luxe.Make it a family occasion and bring the little ones along too, as children eat free on a Sunday! Mother’s Day at Jesmond Dene House
Afternoon tea is the perfect indulgent treat and nobody does afternoon tea quite like Jesmond Dene House.

Their special tea will be served in the Great Hall, a striking room with its own entrance, gothic windows, oak panelling and carved inglenook fireplace.

On arrival, you will be served a glass of fizz, whilst the talented Caroline Guirr entertains on piano. You will then be treated to the full afternoon tea menu and for an extra special touch, Mum’s will be presented with a gift to take home.

If sweet treats are not your Mum’s cup of tea then Jesmond Dene House are also serving a delicious Sunday lunch. You can enjoy three courses, with live piano music from the fantastic Mark Thompson. There will also be a gift for Mum or that special someone. Find out more here.

Mother’s Day at Northcote

If you missed Northcote’s Obsession, not to worry as they are offering you your own piece of Obsession with a special tasting break.

We think this will make the perfect Mother’s Day surprise.
The break includes an overnight stay in one of Northcote’s luxurious rooms, champagne and canapes, a seven course tasting menu and a traditional English breakfast the next day. And that’s not all, you can take home a signed menu and Northcote teddy bear. Find out more here.

Is your mum a serious home cook? Then she will love a cookery lesson at Northcote’s Cookery School. Headed up by Michael Vanheste, there are a variety of classes on offer throughout the year, including bread making, dinner party secrets and so much more! Courses also include a light breakfast, a 2 course lunch with a glass of wine, afternoon tea and your very own Northcote cookery apron! Check out the calendar here.

Rupert's Raspberry Souffle
James's Strawberry Cheesecake

Make Your Own Mother’s Day

Whether you are on a budget or don’t fancy eating out this Mother’s Day, there are other ways you can treat your mum. What about a homemade afternoon tea?

All you need is a beautiful cake stand (we love this porcelain and pewter one which you can find here) and a few tasty recipes!
Michael Vanheste’s tear and share cheesy bread is a great alternative to finger sandwiches. For something sweet, mix and match bite size portions of James Mackenzie’s strawberry cheesecake and Rupert Rowley’s raspberry soufflé. Yummy!
