We love cake here at For Cooks. We love to bake it and we especially love to eat it! And now, there is a week completely dedicated to the sweet, indulgent dessert! Diet? What diet! It’s National Cake Week and we couldn’t be happier about it!

Cake comes in all different shapes, sizes and flavours – seriously, there are thousands of cake recipes out there that are waiting for all you home cooks to try! But which one is your ultimate favourite? We would love to know, get in touch with us on Twitter.

Brighten up your kitchen during dull, miserable autumn days by getting the flour and eggs out and spending the day baking! You can be as simple or as creative as you like with cake – as long as it tastes good, you are on to a winner!

So whether you love to bake a traditional Victoria Sponge or something a little more exotic – it doesn’t matter, as long as there is plenty cake to go around, to keep everyone happy! That’s what National Cake Week is all about – gathering your loved ones together to bake and then taste your cake creations, yum!!

When it comes to cake, the cheesecake is a firm favourite. It is so versatile, it can be paired with almost any flavour. However, we like to keep it simple and always turn to James Mackenzie’s Strawberry Cheesecake recipe, which uses the fruit in four different ways (psstt, this bit of info will surely impress guests!).
