Spring is here, lets make the most of it!

Spring has finally arrived and we’ve got to be honest, we’re relieved! Although winter brings its own interesting seasonal produce and indulgent dishes, we are ready for a fresh start and there is something really fresh and exciting about spring time!

This time of year, not only is the produce more vibrant and light (think asparagus, broccoli and new potatoes) but there is also a lot going on in the foodie world too! From wine dinners to special events, it’s an exciting time to be a foodie and we want to make sure you make the most of it…

Galvin Restaurants know how to make the most of the seasons and spring is no exception. April and May are exciting months in the wine business, which is the perfect time to catch up with growers and importers to taste their wares. Galvin are bringing the wine makers to you through their upcoming ‘Meet the Winemakers’ events and dinners. And not forgetting the beer drinkers, they also have something special planned at Galvin Hop too! Check out the line-up below.    

Meet the Winemaker at La Chapelle – 20th May
On the 20th May, Galvin are welcoming De Trafford Winery to La Chapelle for a special dinner. De Trafford Winery is situated on the beautiful Mont Fleur farm, where the Trafford family have been growing wine since 1976. Fancy booking a table? Call 020 7299 0400.  

Bordeaux Dinner at Bistro de Luxe - 16 May
Bordeaux Dinner at Bistro de Luxe is in collaboration with Galvin’s friends at Roberson Wines. Expect some blockbuster wines and some equally spectacular food. The Bordeaux dinners are always a highlight in the year and this looks like another classic from Galvin that’s not to be missed! To book a table call 020 7935 4007.

The Great Alsace Dinner at Galvin Hop - 21 April

Galvin Hop is Jeff and Chris’s latest pub venture, a place where great food and beer traditions of Alsace come together. There are far more dishes, wines and beers than Galvin could fit on the usual menu, so this evening is about showcasing what else is on offer! For more information call 020 7299.

English vs European Beer Tasting at Galvin Hop

What beer do you prefer, English or European beer? Well, you can try both at Galvin Hop’s Beer Tasting event on 26th May! A Portuguese Event – 29th April

Ever wondered what to would be like to retire abroad? Northcote are welcoming you to be a guest at their upcoming event, where you can learn about the tax and residency benefits of living in Portugal.

 Representatives from the Algarve offices of estate agents Fine & Country, in partnership with Europe’s leading expat specialised wealth management and tax advice company Blevin Franks. The speakers will explain the many benefits of life in the sun-blessed Algarve focusing on the non-habitual residence tax regime whereby UK retirees can receive pension’s tax free for a 10-year period.

9th May - 5 Day Practical Foundation Diploma Course

This is your chance to step into the professional kitchens at Northcote and dedicate a whole week to food and cookery – a home cooks dream come true! Nigel and Michael have designed this versatile course to teach you everything you’ll need to know to become a Master Chef in your own right!

16th June – Two Days on Patisserie
On this busy 2 day course, the secrets of patisserie will all be revealed! Michael will inspire confident home cooks to discover new techniques and learn how to make exquisite bakes that even a professional pastry chef would be jealous of!

21st & 23rd June – BBQ Masterclass
Northcote’s popular barbecue class has returned this year! You will spend the morning learning how to prepare the ultimate barbecue dinner party. By lunch time, the fires will be lit and you can spend the afternoon grazing through all the yummy recipes! You can even take your creations home to share with loved ones (or keep them for yourself!)
