Menu of the Moment at House of Tides Chef’s Table

Bold and Imaginative Cooking - Michelin Star in the Bag! 

Located on the historic Newcastle Quayside and just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Tyne Bridge, House of Tides is a 50 cover restaurant, set over two floors in a recently restored Grade 1 listed 16th Century former merchant’s town house. It is also the proud holder of three AA Rosettes.  


The rustic ground floor entrance level with its 16th century flagstones, provides an excellent venue for a pre-dinner drink or two. The first floor, which houses the main restaurant seating area has exposed original wood beams and provides the more relaxed and casual setting for your meal.

Since opening in February 2014, House of Tides has gained huge support and loyal followers, as well as industry acclaim, whilst offering an accessible and relaxed environment. Within its first year, the restaurant was awarded best newcomer and North East restaurant of the year, voted by Secret Diner.

So far, 2015 is shaping up to be an amazing year for House of Tides, being awarded best newcomer in this years The Cateys and featuring in the top 100 UK restaurants at the National Restaurant Awards. At this years prestigious AA Awards, Kenny and his team were awarded Restaurant of the Year and was was also voted 46th best restaurant outside of London by the Square Meal Magazine – putting Newcastle dining well and truly on the map!


With so many awards already under their belt, it is no surprise that the House of Tides team have recently been awarded a very well deserved Michelin Star!

Spotlight on the Chef
Kenny Atkinson has become a well-known face on TV from his appearances on the BBC 2's The Great British Menu.  He won this in two consecutive years, 2009 and 2010, with his Grand Reserve Beef Carpaccio and Mackerel & Gooseberry dishes.

More recently you will have seen him alongside James Martin on BBC1's Saturday kitchen, UKTV Foods Market Kitchen and Sky TVs Perfect series.
Kenny Atkinson's bold and imaginative cooking has brought him critical acclaim and numerous awards, including a Michelin star in 2008 and 2009, holder of 3AA Rosettes for over 10 years and Hotel & Caterer Cateys Chef of the Year 2009.
