Menu of the Moment at Ondine Chef’s Table

Firmly established as Scotland’s finest seafood restaurant, Ondine sits in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

Two hundred years ago, the area was where the rich pursued their love of seafood. “A party of the most fashionable would adjourn in carriages to one of those abysses of darkness and comfort where they proceeded to regale themselves with raw oysters” wrote local historian Robert Chambers.

Ondine keeps this grand tradition alive today with a bohemian dining room where you can enjoy a single oyster or lobster, fish and chips or a grand seafood platter if you wish.

Panoramic windows offer amazing views of Edinburgh's Old Town, but inside it is all about slurping oysters, cracking crab claws and feeling relaxed enough to do so.

Since it opened four years ago, Ondine has picked up a string of awards and great reviews. It is the AA’s Scottish restaurant of the Year and was the Good Food Guide’s Scottish Restaurant of the Year last year.

Roy Brett’s cooking is simple and classy and in service of some excellent ingredients”
Jay Rayner, The Observer.

“one of Edinburgh's best loved restaurants., which specialises in seafood, sustainability and making customers feel ‘well looked after’”.
The Good Food Guide

"This was a feast, and by the time we'd worked our way through it, I'd fallen in love with shellfish all over again",
Tracey MacLeod, The Independent.

“among the best restaurants in the country”
